Calgary, Alberta — July 15, 2024 — AdvEn Inc. (“AdvEn”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Donald (“Don”) Nicholson to its esteemed Board of Directors, succeeding Eloner Habtezghi. Don brings a wealth of experience in corporate leadership and governance coupled with his extensive engineering career in overseeing major projects across multiple industries.

Mr. Nicholson began his career as an engineer at Shell Canada Ltd. and advanced to executive roles, including President, Vice President, and Chief Executive Officer at several multinational companies. In these positions, he oversaw major projects in LNG, power generation, mining, nuclear energy, natural gas production, and pipeline construction.  Most recently, from January 2005 to August 2008, Mr. Nicholson served as President of Pan Pacific Aggregates plc, where he steered the company through its critical start-up and growth phases. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Nicholson was actively engaged with professional and industry bodies, including the Registered Professional Engineers of the Province of British Columbia, the Prospector and Developers Association of Canada, the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada. Mr. Nicholson earned a B.A. Sc., in Electrical Engineering at the University of British Columbia and a DIC in Automatic Control Systems at the Imperial College in London, England.
