Calgary, Alberta — July 15, 2024 — AdvEn Inc. (“AdvEn”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Yanguang Yuan, as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”).
“Dr. Yuan was the founding CEO of AdvEn Inc. and had stepped aside in July 2023 as the Company progressed with plant construction and its initial public offering. Now, as AdvEn reaches a critical phase in commissioning and initial production at our ASAC plant, we look forward to Dr. Yuan’s continuing contributions as we enter a phase of rapid growth,” commented AdvEn board chair Dr. Greg Ombach. “Dr. Yuan possesses a well-balanced combination of scientific expertise, engineering skills, technological innovation, and commercialization experience, which we believe will be crucial as we enter this exciting new chapter for the Company. Dr. Yuan will focus on the commissioning of the ASAC plant, enhancing production and revenue, and overseeing the initiation of the ESAC pilot plant. Additionally, Dr. Yuan will play a critical role in securing long term offtake agreements with customers and initiating the design and engineering of large-scale production facilities in North America and Europe.”
Dr. Yuan has served as a director of AdvEn since January 2017 and has been instrumental in its foundational growth. With more than 35 years of experience in geological sciences and subsurface engineering, Dr. Yuan is passionate about driving positive changes through technological advancements and has a notable track record in technology commercialization. Prior to his involvement with AdvEn, he founded BitCan Geosciences & Engineering Inc. in 2000, developing it into a respected technology and service company for the worldwide upstream oil/gas industry.
“Furthermore, we extend our gratitude to Michael Steele, who has been with the Company as CFO since 2021 and as interim CEO since July 2023 and left AdvEn by mutual agreement as of May 31, 2024. Under his leadership, the Company achieved significant milestones and was well positioned for future growth. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” concluded Dr. Ombach.
